CARIBBEAN SEA - (March 24, 2024) – Command Master Chief Jason Kutsch, of the Ticonderoga-class guided-missile cruiser USS Leyte Gulf (CG 55), presents Master Chief Timothy Whitman, from Middletown, Rhode Island, to the crew prior to being pinned to his current rank at a promotion ceremony, March 24, 2024. Leyte Gulf is on a scheduled deployment in the U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command/U.S. 4th Fleet’s area of operations to support joint and combined military operations, which includes counter-illicit drug trafficking missions in the Caribbean.
