Ali Faris, left, the owner of al Folatheya, an Iraqi construction company, and Chief Warrant Officer 3 Paul Pritchard, right, the anti-terrorism force protection officer for Marine Wing Support Group 37, break ground to signify the beginning of construction for a new chapel near the flight line. The event marks the first time an Iraqi company has performed work aboard al Asad since the war began. The hiring of Iraqi companies to perform construction on U.S. bases in the country began last year with the launch of the 'Iraqi First' program. The goal of the program is to help stimulate the Iraqi economy. Faris has worked on 12 other contracts aboard U.S. installations across Iraq. 'I look forward to building a reputation for quality work,' Faris said.
