A U.S. Navy MH-60S Seahawk assigned to Helicopter Sea Combat Squadron 12, fires at simulated targets during a Tactical Air Control Party exercise, at Irisuna Island, Okinawa, Japan, April 10, 2024. The TACP consisted of Marine joint fire observers and joint terminal attack controllers who coordinated with aircraft to conduct close air support drills. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region.
