A U.S. Marine Corps UH-1Y Venom aircraft, assigned to Marine Aviation Weapons and Tactics Squadron One, participates in an extraction exercise during Assault Support Tactics 3 as part of Weapons and Tactics Instructor course 2-24, at Marine Corps Air-Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms, California, April 12, 2024. WTI is an advanced graduate-level course that provides advanced tactical training to enhance and employ advanced aviation weapons and tactics. AST-3 is a multi-mission evolution consisting of NEO as well as Foreign Humanitarian Assistance operations. This evolution allows the perspective WTIs to plan, brief, and execute both missions while shifting their focus towards an in-depth review and dissection of rules of engagement, military authorities and civil considerations.
