U.S. Air Force Airmen assigned to the 71st Rescue Squadron depart Avon Park Air Force Range, Florida, aboard an HC-130J Combat King II during Exercise Ready Tiger 24-1, April 12, 2024. During the exercise, the 71st RQS conducted combat search and rescue operations and provided airlift for resupply, mortuary affairs, and troop transport to contingency locations. The Ready Tiger 24-1 exercise evaluators will assess the 23rd Wing's proficiency in employing decentralized command and control to fulfill air tasking orders across geographically dispersed areas amid communication challenges.
