(April 19, 2024) Engineering Professional Apprenticeship Career Track (EPACT) Sailors assigned to Surface Warfare Engineering Schools Command Great Lakes demonstrate valve maintenance during a visit by Rear Adm. Jeffrey Czerewko, commander, Naval Education Training Command to Naval Station Great Lakes accession training sites. EPACT, formerly Basic Engineering Common Core, equips accession-level Sailors with the basic skills needed to function in an operation shipboard environment, familiarizing students with tools, equipment, naval terminology, safety protocols and procedural compliance.
