Tech Sgt. James Thomas, a combat camera technician with the 4th Combat Camera Squadron, South Carolina, records video of a 920th Rescue Wing HC-130J Combat King II aircraft on the flight line at Patrick Space Force Base, Florida, April 23, 2024. As the only dedicated fixed-wing personnel recovery platform in the Air Force inventory, the HC-130J is designed to rapidly deploy to execute combatant commander directed recovery operations to austere airfields and denied territory for expeditionary, all weather personnel recovery operations to include airdrop, airland, helicopter air-to-air refueling, and forward area ground refueling missions.
