Loadmasters with the 39th Rescue Squadron facilitate static line jump training for 820th Base Defense Group Airmen from the troop doors of an HC-130J Combat King II over southern Georgia on April 25, 2024. Static line parachuting is a method in which a cord is attached to the aircraft at one end and the other attaches to the top of the parachute deployment bag. As the individual exits the aircraft, the static line is drawn taut, and the deployment bag is pulled from the container. The deployment bag remains attached to the static line, and the parachute, extracted from the deployment bag inflates as the jumper continues to fall. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Tiffany A.
