U.S. Marines with 1st Civil Affairs Group, Combined Joint Civil-Military Task Force, and Armed Forces of the Philippines service members participate in a Civil-Military Operations subject matter expert exchange during Exercise Balikatan 24 at Camp Aguinaldo, Philippines, April 29, 2024. Both countries' specialists shared best practices and experiences during their experiences when government and military forces supported civilian populations in scenarios such as the COVID pandemic, natural disasters, and refugee crises. BK 24 is an annual exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the U.S. military designed to strengthen bilateral interoperability, capabilities, trust, and cooperation built over decades of shared experiences.
