Joint Utah Army and Air National Guard members with the Region VIII Homeland Response Force conduct repelling procedures during search-and-extraction training on the Collapsed Structure Venue Site at Camp Williams, Utah, on April 20-21, 2024. The Homeland Response Force trains a force of around 500 Guardsmen to deploy within 6-12 hours in the event of a chemical, biological, radiological, or nuclear disaster with a focus on casualty assistance, search and extraction, decontamination, medical triage and stabilization, and fatality search and recovery.
