Emma Faye Rudkin, 340th Flying Training Group honorary commander, is fitted for an aircrew helmet and mask by an Aircrew Flight Equipment specialist with the 435th Flying Training Squadron before her T-38C familiarization flight Mar. 25, 2024, at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph, Texas. Rudkin is the founder and executive director of Aid the Silent, Miss San Antonio 2015, and Miss San Antonio 2017, who is part of the 340th FTG honorary commander program, which aims to bridge the gap between business and civic leaders, who lack military backgrounds, so they can learn about the critical air education and training mission carried out by the 340th FTG.
