Major General Dwayne Wilson relinquished command of the Georgia Army National Guard to Brig. Gen. Jason Fryman May 3, 2024, during a ceremony at the Clay National Gard Center. Wilson has served as the commander of the Georgia Army National Guard since October 9, 2020, and led the organization through most of the Georgia National Guard’s COVID-19 response. With 40 years of military service, Wilson has deployed in support of overseas combat operations and commanded Army aviation units from company to brigade level. In addition to command, Wilson has served in key staff assignments including chief of staff for the Georgia ARNG and as director of the joint staff of the Georgia National Guard. On May 4, 2024, he was appointed to serve as Georgia’s 44th Adjutant General by Governor Nathan Deal.
