U.S. Navy Landing Craft Air Cushion 47, transporting personnel with Naval Beach Unit 7, approaches the well deck of the amphibious assault ship USS Bonhomme Richard (LHD 6) Jan. 24, 2013, in Sasebo, Japan. The Bonhomme Richard Amphibious Ready Group, on deployment in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations, was scheduled to take part in amphibious integration training, a certification exercise and exercise Cobra Gold. Cobra Gold is a regularly scheduled joint/combined exercise designed to ensure regional peace and strengthen the ability of the Royal Thai Armed Forces to defend Thailand or respond to regional contingencies.
