PENSACOLA, Fla. - A student asks a question during an all hands call held on May 7, 2024 at the Navy Recruiting Orientation Unit with Force Master Chief Jimmy Hailey III of U.S. Naval Air Forces Atlantic, who met with leadership before holding and spoke with over 200 future recruiters at the schoolhouse.
Hailey took time out of his schedule prior to the Naval Aviation symposium onboard Naval Air Station Pensacola to visit NORU, learn about recruiting, and hear from the Sailors directly responsible for keeping the aviation commands manned and ready.
"We have to continue to have the right people in these jobs," said Hailey. He also spoke on topics such as sponsorship, Base Allowance for Housing (BAH), "at risk" Sailors, the Senior Enlisted Marketplace, and more.
NORU is the Navy’s sole recruiting schoolhouse responsible for the instruction of Enlisted and Officer personnel in professional sales, prospecting techniques, marketing, applicant processing, recruiting terminology, leadership, ethical behavior, and activity analysis. It also provides continuum training for the Navy’s Career Recruiting Force and prepares selected leaders for the challenges of operating a Navy Recruiting District (NRD).
