The Mosul mosque, the largest mosque in Mosul, planned and funded by Saddam Hussein, can be seen from the left seat of an OH-58 Kiowa helicopter of 4th Squadron, 6th Air Cavalry Regiment. The Kiowas of 4-6 Air Cav. have flown over 28,000 flight hours in support of ground troops since their arrival in June, 2007.
