U.S. Air Force members from the 40th Airlift Squadron provide fuel to a Forward Arming and Refueling Point (FARP) established by U.S. Marines from Marine Wing Support Squadron 174, Marine Aircraft Group 24 during Exercise Balikatan 24 at Basco Airfield, Philippines, April 28, 2024. FARPs serve as key refueling points located near the front lines or in forward operating areas. These strategic sites enable aircraft to quickly refuel and return to their missions without the need to travel back to a main base. BK 24 is an annual exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the U.S. military designed to strengthen bilateral interoperability, capabilities, trust, and cooperation built over decades of shared experiences.
