USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) Sailors bid farewell to Japan with flight deck message

240510-N-AR554-1086 TOKYO INLET (May 10, 2024) Sailors stand in formation to form Japanese hiragana characters spelling “de wa mata,” which translates to “see you again”, on the flight deck of the U.S. Navy’s only forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), in the Tokyo Inlet, May 10. After nine years of service, Ronald Reagan is scheduled to depart Japan for the final time as the U.S. Navy’s Forward-Deployed Naval Forces Japan aircraft carrier. Ronald Reagan, the flagship of Carrier Strike Group 5, provides a combat-ready force that protects and defends the United States, and supports alliances, partnerships and collective maritime interests in the Indo-Pacific region.
