Members of the Robins Air Force Base Honor Guard stand post at Senior Airman Roger Fortson’s interment, May 17, 2024, at Atlanta, Georgia. Fortson was 23 years old when he was shot and killed in an Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Department deputy-involved shooting on May 3, 2024, at his off-base apartment. He was a special missions aviator with the 73rd and 4th Special Operations Squadrons. The incident is under investigation by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.
