The Camp Darby team, was the first to complete the 10-Kilometer cross-country race, which constituted one of the events comprising the Commander's Cup. The competition between the U.S. Team and Italian military forces, including the Italia Naval Academy, Carabinieri, Folgore, Finance Police, Fire Departments, and Italian Airborne in the provinces of Pisa and Livorno, is designed to enhance the esprit de corps and to familiarize participants with the different military units. The event is organized by the Camp Darby Morale Welfare and Recreation (MWR) at the C.I.S.A.M.
