Brig. Gen. Maurice M. McKinney, Mobilization Assistant to the Commander, Cyber National Mission Forces (CNMF), U.S. Cyber Command, retired after 40 years of military service in a ceremony May 23 at Proviso West High School, Hillside, Illinois. McKinney, a native of Chicago, enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1984, serving for 10 years before transitioning to the reserve components, and commissioning as a second lieutenant in 1995. McKinney served in the Illinois Air National Guard’s 183rd Air Support Squadron and as commander of the 183rd Air Communications Squadron, based at the Abraham Lincoln Capitol Airport in Springfield before transferring to the Missouri Air National Guard. McKinney is a Senior Intelligence Community officer with the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. Brig. Gen. Tara McKennie, Assistant Adjutant General – Air and Air Component Commander for Joint Force Headquarters, Alabama National Guard, served as presiding official.
