KUANTAN, Malaysia (May 25, 2024) Boatswain’s Mate 3rd Class Elijah Rodarte, a native of Hesperia, California, throws a messenger line to the pier during a sea and anchor evolution aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS Somerset (LPD 25) as the ship prepares to port in Kuantan, Malaysia, May 25. Somerset is currently underway conducting routine operations in U.S. 7th Fleet with elements of the 15th Marine Expeditionary Unit. U.S. 7th Fleet is the U.S. Navy's largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
