NEW CASTLE AIR NATIONAL GUARD BASE, Del. -- The annual Delaware Memorial Day ceremony was held at Veterans Memorial Park in New Castle on 30 May 2024. In attendance we numerous dignitaries including Governor John Carney, members of the Delaware congressional and state legislative delegations, the Delaware National Guard, and a large contingent of veterans and veteran's organizations. Also present was First Lieutenant Ray Firmani (ret.), a 102-year-old decorated WWII veteran and B-17 bomber pilot.
The keynote was delivered by retired U.S. Army Chief Warrant Officer Phyllis J. Wilson (ret.), President of the Military Women's Memorial Foundation. The joint color guard presented the colors and the 21-gun salute.
