Christian Maude, 37th Airlift Squadron D-Day 80 mission commander, hands World War II veteran Mr. Ceo Bauer, Former 377th Infantry Regiment rifleman, a U.S.A. flag that was flown over the beaches of Normandy on June 6, 2024, in honor of the 80th anniversary of D-Day at Cherbourg-Maupertus Airport, France, June 7, 2024. Eighty years later, the bravery and heroism by all Allies and U.S. forces during World War II continue to resonate around the world – as today’s Alliance remains steadfast in its commitment to global peace and security.
