U.S. Air Force Chief Master Sgt. Thomas Gill, Senior Enlisted Leader, 217th Combat Operations Squadron, served over 32 years in both the Active Duty and Air National Guard components as a 1C191, Air Traffic Controller. He supported numerous State Partnership Program endeavors, including assisting the Latvian Air Force with integrating remotely piloted aircraft into Latvia’s National Airspace System and championing a program to train Latvian air traffic controllers through the U.S. Air Force air traffic control training pipeline at Keesler Air Force Base, Mississippi, and Selfridge Air National Guard Base, Michigan. Chief Gill also supported numerous operations, contingencies, and exercises, including Operation Desert Storm, Operation Iraqi Freedom, Operation Enduring Freedom, Exercise Austere Challenge, Exercise Blue Flag, and Exercise Northern Strike.
