A member of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) inflates a weather balloon during Salaknib 24 in Laoag, Philippines, June 7, 2024. The 1st Multi-Domain Task Force collaborates daily with PAGASA, and the balloon launches improve weather models used by both the U.S. Department of Defense and PAGASA. Salaknib 24 is an annual exercise between the Armed Forces of the Philippines and the U.S. military designed to strengthen the bilateral interoperability, capabilities, trust, and cooperation built over decades of shared experiences.
