U.S. Marines with Marine All-Weather Fighter Attack Squadron (VMFA(AW)) 224, Marine Aircraft Group (MAG) 31, 2nd Marine Aircraft Wing (MAW), run to conduct pre-flight inspections on an F/A-18C Hornet aircraft at Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, June 9, 2024. VMFA(AW)-224, the “Fighting Bengals,” are based out of Beaufort, South Carolina and currently augment MAG-12 as a part of their Unit Deployment Program taking place during Exercise Valiant Shield. This exercise gave the Indo-Pacific Command Joint Forces the opportunity to coordinate with all branches of service and our allies. During the event, our forces trained on the conduct of precise, lethal, and overwhelming multi-axis, multi-domain effects. This demonstrated the strength and versatility of the Joint Force and our commitment to a free and open Indo-Pacific. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Sgt. Jose Angeles)
