PUTLOS, Germany (June 14, 2024) – U.S. Navy Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) technicians assigned to Explosive Ordnance Disposal Mobile Units (EODMU) 2 and 12 conduct helicopter rope suspension techniques (HRST) from an MH-60S Seahawk attached to the “Blackjacks” of Helicopter Combat Squadron (HSC) 21 during a fast roping and rappelling training in Putlos, Germany, June 14, 2024. BALTOPS 24 is the premier maritime-focused exercise in the Baltic region. The exercise, led by U.S. Naval Forces Europe-Africa and executed by Naval Striking and Support Forces NATO, provides a unique training opportunity to strengthen combined response capabilities critical to preserving freedom of navigation and security in the Baltic Sea.
