A U.S. Reconnaissance Marine with 3rd Force Reconnaissance Company, 4th Marine Division, Marine Forces Reserve, marks a buoy during exercise Resolute Sentinel 24 at Base Naval De Infanteria De Marina, Lima, Peru, June 9, 2024. The buoys were used to track the divers’ route during dive training to enhance the skills needed to perform deep reconnaissance missions. Exercise RS24 is a U.S. Southern Command sponsored exercise that consists of comprehensive joint training opportunities aimed at enhancing regional security and interoperability among the United States, France, Peru, Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, and Brazil.
