Soldiers from 1-114th S&S Regiment and Airmen from 189th Airlift Wing worked along side 19th Airlift Wing to conduct an intense joint Survival, Evasion, Resistance, and Escape (SERE) and Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC) training exercise at All American Air Field June 7, 2024. This training exercise gave Airmen of all ranks and Air Force Specialty Codes (AFSCs) the opportunity to gain experience and confidence in a high stress combat simulated training event.
Airmen from across the 19th Airlift Wing volunteer to instruct and facilitate training as an additional duty for the 19th Airlift Wing's Warrior Airmen Readiness (WAR) Center at Little Rock Air Force Base. Command Chief Newman, with Air Mobility Command, selected the 19th Airlift Wing's WAR Center to conduct the Phoenix Forge Professional Development Program. The 19th Airlift Wing invited airmen from across all components of the Air Force to participate. Trainees for this SERE training event came from all over the Major Commands, to include United States European Command (EUCOM), Pacific Air Force (PACAF), and Arkansas Air National Guard (AR ANG). The 19th Airlift Wing coordinated with the Arkansas National Guard to include Airmen Transport, Airfield Security, Army Medical Evacuation (MEDEVAC), Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), and 9-line procedures into the SERE training.
As participants in the training exercise, Airmen from the 189th Airlift Wing conducted C-130 Hercules troop transport and airmen from the 189th Security Forces Squadron conducted airfield security in response to the 9-line MEDEVAC Request. Soldiers from G Co 3-238th MEDEVAC and Det 2, D Co 1-114th S&S MEDEVAC supported the SERE training with UH-60 Blackhawk and UH-72 Lakota MEDEVAC airframes for MEDEVAC response.
