U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, New Orleans District, personnel provide a tour of the Old River Control Complex and the Morganza Control structures to Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry, Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority and other government officials near Vidalia, La., June 17, 2024, to give their state and local partners a better understanding of how these structures work to help control the flow of the Mississippi River. The Auxiliary Control Structure pictured here was completed in December 1986 and operates together with the Low Sill Structure to help provide flood-risk reduction during high-water events on the Mississippi River.
