Brig. Gen. Matthew J. Strub, Wisconsin’s deputy adjutant general for Army, and Command Sgt. Maj. Curtis Patrouille, Wisconsin’s senior enlisted leader, along with other state leadership, visited with Wisconsin National Guard Soldiers currently completing the training rotation at the Joint Readiness Training Center (JRTC) on Fort Johnson, Louisiana. Strub described the time at JRCT as, “the closest thing to combat that a Soldier can do, and train to be ready for the future fight.” The leadership wanted to send a message back home to all of the family and friends who are waiting to hear from a Soldier here. “I know this is a struggle for the families back home, your loved ones are here and you don’t get to talk to them on a regular basis. I just want to let all of the families in the back know that we’re doing everything we can to take care of our Soldiers as best we can in this environment,” shared Patrouille.
