U.S. Air Force Lt. Gen. Caroline Miller, deputy chief of staff for manpower, personnel and services, Headquarters Air Force, asks Tech. Sgt. Jason Ferris, dining facility production manager, 673rd Force Support Squadron, and Operation Colony Glacier recovery team member, questions about recovery site procedures at Colony Glacier, Alaska, June 14, 2024. Operation Colony Glacier is an effort to recover the remains of service members and wreckage from a C-124 Globemaster II that crashed in November 1952 with 52 military members on board. Great care is taken for the safe recovery of human remains, personal effects and equipment at the crash site. Consideration for surviving family members of those recovered is a top priority in the recovery of remains at the site. (U.S. Air Force photo by Tech. Sgt. Don Hudson)
