Dr. Sean Biggerstaff, acting deputy assistant director of the Defense Health Agency’s Research and Engineering Directorate, discusses the importance of emerging leaders during the 2024 AIM Health R&D Summit in San Antonio, Texas, June 25. “There are so many young people here today and yesterday, and you are the leaders that we need,” Biggerstaff said. “We need to foster these young people to take our places. There is value in stepping out of the lab and taking [your knowledge] out to the world and into leadership positions.”
