240509-N-GB257-1002 N. Charleston, SC (May 9, 2024) The Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC) Atlantic's Radio Frequency Test Facility (RFTF) Poseidon Park is a unique testing facility as it is located outside, which enables testing of antennas installed on military vehicles in a more realistic environment, taking into account the potential impact of external radio frequency (RF) interference and environmental conditions.
3D pattern testing, which is also performed at the RFTF Poseidon Park, involves the use of specialized equipment and techniques to measure the radiation pattern of an antenna in three dimensions. This provides a more comprehensive view of the antenna's performance and can help identify any potential issues that may not be apparent in 2D testing. (U.S. Navy photo by Joe Bullinger/Released)
