Alexander Hatchett, assigned to Munson Army Health Center, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, shares information about the history of the Juneteenth Federal Holiday, to participants of the U.S. Army Combined Arms Center and Fort Leavenworth Army Heritage Month Observance on post June 25. According to the Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute, Juneteenth honors the end to slavery in the United States and is considered the longest-running African American holiday.
