Matthew Pirc, a radio telephone operator with Alpha Company, 1st Reconnaissance Battalion, 1st Marine Division, looks back after completing a combined island raid with members of the Indonesian Korps Marinir as part of a bilateral reconnaissance exchange off the coast of Jakarta, Indonesia, May 9, 2024. Members of the Indonesian Korps Marinir hosted the exchange for the Marines of 1st Recon Bn. to strengthen relationships and enhance the capabilities and interoperability between the U.S. and Indonesian reconnaissance forces.
