Two U.S. Air Force KC-135 Stratotanker pilots from Fairchild Air Force Base’s 92nd Expeditionary Air Refueling Squadron prepare their aircraft for engine start, within the U.S. Central Command area of responsibility, June 23, 2024. The KC-135 crew requires two pilots who work in tandem throughout all stages of flight to fulfill multiple tasks at once as well as creating redundancy in operations for safe and effective mission accomplishment.
