Ron Sturgeon, Savannah District, commander; Sandy Gibson, South Atlantic Division, Senior Environmental Program manager and Glenn Marks, Savannah District Reimbursable Branch chief met with the Dare County Board of Commissioners May 1, 2024 to discuss the former Buxton Naval Facility, a Formerly Used Defense Site located in Dare County, North Carolina, near the Buxton Beach access. The FUDS property encompasses 3/10 of a mile of the more than 75 miles of beach along the Cape Hatteras National Seashore.
