GREAT LAKES, Il. (July 1, 2024) Ens. Charlie Gomez, assigned to Surface Combat Systems Training Command Great Lakes, is commissioned as a limited duty officer (LDO) during a commissioning cermony held at the National Museum of the American Sailor at Naval Station Great Lakes, Ill., July 1. An LDO is an officer in the U.S. Navy or U.S. Marine Corps who is selected for commissioning based on skill and expertiese, and they are the primary manpower source for technically selected billets not suited for traditional line or staff corps officers.
