Italian Army members of the Vittorio Veneto Division, Florence, Italy and Soldiers from U.S. Army Southern European Task Force, Africa (SETAF-AF), and the 173rd Airborne Brigade, simulate a situation report during a staff training exercise on Caserma Ederle, Vicenza, Italy, June 26, 2024. The division trained with planners from the 173rd Airborne Brigade and SETAF-AF in order to build and refine processes ahead of exercise Saber Junction 2024 (SJ24). More than 4,500 participants from the U.S. and NATO Allies and partners in Europe will participate in SJ24 at the U.S. Army's Hohenfels Training Area Aug. 25-Sept. 19, 2024, with the Italian Vittorio Veneto Multi-National Division South operating as the High Command.
SJ24 is a 7th Army Training Command, U.S. Army Europe and Africa-directed, annual exercise designed to assess the readiness of U.S. Army units to execute unified land operations in a joint, combined environment and promote interoperability with participating Allied and partner nations.
