8-year-old Clyde Hicks, the Check-6 Foundation's 35th Pilot for a Day, along with his Wingmen Capt. John Dansby and Christian Okoye receive a tour of the 1st Helicopter Squadron, 459th Air Refueling Wing, Maryland State Police Hangar, 121st Fighter Squadron, 113th Wing Maintenance Group, 201st Airlift Squadron, JBA Air Traffic Control Tower, and Fire Department at Joint Base Andrews, July 10, 2024. Hicks and his family were welcomed by senior leaders aboard the installation to include Maj. Gen. Daniel A. DeVoe, commander, Air Force District of Washington; Maj. Gen. John C. Andonie, commanding general (interim), D.C. National Guard and Col. J. Corey Reed, commander, 459th Air Refueling Wing. The Check-6 Foundation, a non-profit foundation, organizes and funds the Pilot for a Day events for children with serious medical conditions at JBA.
