Petty Officer 1st Class Lindsay Sholes presents to Army 1st Lt. Amelia Smith, of the 353rd Civil Affairs Command, the Provost’s Award for top graduate of the French language program at the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California on June 13, 2024. Smith earned a 3.7 GPA and was on the Dean’s List every semester. She looks forward to employing her new French language skills to enhance her abilities as a civil affairs officer and advance the U.S. Army’s missions around the world.
