VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (July 12, 2024) U.S. and Royal Navy service members and civilians including Royal Navy Rear Adm. Robert Pedre, Commander UK Strike Force, Royal Navy Commodore Simon Kelly, Deputy Commander, UK Strike Force, and Capt. James A. Quaresimo, Commanding Officer, Tactical Training Group Atlantic (TTGL) pose for a photograph on board Naval Air Station Oceana’s Dam Neck Annex during a joint, Allied Fleet Synthetic Training (FST) event led by TTGL, a subordinate command of CSG-4. The training event used the Navy’s Continuous Training Environment (NCTE) for distributed training in an LVC environment that combines real-world, in-person elements with virtual reality, simulation, and other computer-generated technologies to enable service members to train as they fight for combat. The FST event incorporated nearly 40 commands including United Kingdom Strike Force, CSG-4, Harry S. Truman CSG (CSG-8), Gerald R. Ford CSG (CSG-12), HMS Prince of Wales (UK CSG), a patrol squadron, submarines, supply and logistics ships, the 178th Wing, the 337th Air Control Squadron, and the 960th Airborne Air Control Squadron. CSG-4 mentors, trains and assesses carrier strike groups, amphibious ready groups, and independent deployers for global combat against peer competitors.
