Soldiers and airmen from throughout the Montana National Guard competed in the 2nd Annual Adjutant General’s State Championship Marksmanship Match, better known as the “Hoop’s Shoot,” at Fort Harrison, Mont. from July 15 to 17.
The competition tested service member’s marksmanship skills, engaging targets with the M4 carbine and M17 pistol. Winners of the competition: Sgt. 1st Class Pat Crisswell, Capt. Paul Weber, Capt. Jacob Bernal, Sgt. 1st Class Rod Smith, and Staff Sgt. Daniel Johnson, were in the top 20% of competitors and will wear the coveted “Governor’s 20” patch while representing the state at multiple future competitions.
