NSI provides basic training in five warfighting fundamentals – Fire Fighting, Damage Control, Seamanship, Watchstanding and Small Arms Handling and Marksmanship -- to begin creating basically trained, smartly disciplined, tough and courageous future Navy and Marine Corps Officers.
