Lt. Col. Matthew Schardt, 3rd Squadron 71st Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team commander, takes charge of the formation from Col. Daniel Kearney, 1st BCT commander, on Fort Drum, New York, June 26, 2024. This concluded the ceremony for 3-71 CAV, the squadron and its Soldiers will support other units in the 10th Mountain Division and the U.S. Army in order to meet mission requirements and win our nation’s wars.
