Airmen assigned to the 59th Medical Wing carry a simulated patient onto a High Deck Patient Lifting Platform attached to a KC-135 Stratotanker, Joint Base San Antonio-Kelly Field Annex, Texas, June 18, 2024. Implementing the HDPLP allows medical personnel to directly move patients from the lifted platform through the climate-controlled vehicle which prevents patients from being exposed to inclement weather during transport providing additional patient safety and comfort.
