The tuba players of The U.S. Army Band "Pershing's Own" perform their instruments in many locations, from parades through the streets of Washington DC to concert halls throughout the United States. They perform on both the concert tuba and its much heavier marching counterpart, the sousaphone. The most reverent and, many will say, memorable part of their duties involve ceremonial missions in Arlington National Cemetery to honor our Nation's heroes.
In commemoration of the retirement of four of the nine tuba players, the section takes a final photo in the hallowed grounds of the Memorial Amphitheater in Arlington National Cemetery where they spent so many years performing ceremonies and funerals. This photo represents over 150 years of honorable service to our Nation.
