U.S. Marine Corps Lance Cpl. Jose OlveraBermudez, an aviation ordnance technician with Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262 (Rein.), 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, locks in 2.75-inch Zuni rockets into an AH-1Z Cobra helicopter in preparation for a close air support exercise, aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Green Bay (LPD 20), off the coast of Okinawa, Japan, Aug. 3, 2024. The exercise was conducted to simulate providing security and supporting fires to forces on the ground. The 31st MEU is operating aboard ships of USS America Amphibious Ready Group in the 7th fleet area of operations to enhance interoperability with allies and partners and serve as a ready response force to defend peace and stability in the Indo-Pacific region.
