U.S. Marine Corps Lt. Gen. Bobbi Shea, incoming Commanding General, Fleet Marine Force, Atlantic, Commander, Marine Forces Command, Marine Forces North, receives collar insignia of her newly promoted rank aboard Naval Station Norfolk, Aug. 6, 2024. During the ceremony, Shea was promoted by U.S. Marine Corps Gen. Eric M. Smith, the 39th Commandant of the Marine Corps, to the rank of Lieutenant General from Major General, with colleagues, friends, and family in attendance. To commemorate this significant milestone, Shea invited the Sgt. Maj. of the Marine Corps Carlos A. Ruiz, right, along with her husband, left, to affix the lieutenant general uniform insignia – three silver stars – to the collars of her Marine Corps Combat Utility Uniform (MCCUU).
